Bay Mills Community College Names Brandy Ball 2025 Faculty of the Year
Brimley, MI – May 28, 2025 – Bay Mills Community College (BMCC) is proud to announce that Brandy Ball, Department Chair of the Business Administration program, has been selected as the 2025 Faculty of the Year. This prestigious award recognizes her exceptional dedication, teaching excellence, and unwavering commitment to student success.
The Faculty of the Year selection process began with student nominations, where 24 submissions recognized 18 outstanding instructors. The final decision was made by the Faculty of the Year committee, composed of past award winners still serving at BMCC. Brandy Ball stood out for her impactful leadership, accessibility, and ability to inspire students in both her teaching and advising roles.
Students who nominated Brandy praised her professionalism, responsiveness, and supportive approach. One student shared, "Throughout my experience as a student here at BMCC, Brandy has been a great asset in helping me stay on track to finish my Bachelor's degree, as well as being a great instructor. She is always available for questions and responds in a timely manner." Another highlighted her ability to balance multiple roles while maintaining excellence: "She holds numerous titles and effectively manages her responsibilities while providing timely answers to inquiries. As the Chair of the Business Administration Department, my advisor, and my instructor, she is always prompt at answering questions, big or small. She offers positive reinforcement to encourage my progress. I appreciate her teaching methods and believe she is committed to promoting success rather than failure in all the students she interacts with."
Humbled by the recognition, Brandy remarked, "To be recognized by my students is the highest honor I could receive. Their success is the reason I do this."
BMCC President Dr. Duane Bedell celebrated Brandy’s achievement, stating: "I couldn’t be prouder to see Brandy Ball recognized as our 2025 Faculty of the Year.
