Patrick M. Shannon, J.D., Ed, D.
     Pat Shannon has served as the Charter Schools Office Director since 2003. Prior to his appointment he was the Chief Judge of the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Court, Assistant Superintendent of the Sault Ste. Marie Public Schools, and the Chippewa County Prosecuting Attorney. Pat Shannon holds A Business Degree from Central Michigan University, a Master's Degree in Public Health from the University of Michigan, a law degree from the University of Detroit, and a Doctorate in Education Administration from Central Michigan University.

Nancy Berkompas
    Bay Mills Community College and the Charter Schools Office are very pleased to welcome Nancy Berkompas to their staff. Nancy's position as Governance Specialist providing oversight to ensure compliance of the charter schools. Recently retired as superintendent of Rudyard Area Schools, Nancy has spent 37 years in the field of education. She has served as a teacher in public, private and correctional education, a principal in four of the Upper Peninsula prisons, taught English and education methods classes for Bay Mills Community College. Nancy has also taught Freshman Composition for Lake Superior State University. She has earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, a Master of Arts Degree from Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and is pursuing a doctorate degree in Educational Leadership from Western Michigan University.

Julie Hopper
     
Julie Hopper is the Education Specialist for the Charter Schools Office. Her duties include working as a field consultant as well as reviewing student academic achievement in schools chartered by Bay Mills. Julie earned both her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Central Michigan University.

Mariah O. Wanic

Mariah is the Compliance Coordinator for the Bay Mills Community College Charter Schools Office. She is a graduate of Bay Mills Community College and has a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Community Development w/concentration in Public Administration from Central Michigan University. Mariah is currently pursuing a Masters of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University.
