| My role as the Advisor for the Early Childhood
Education Curriculum Students is to assist the students with planning
which courses to take. Our goal is to help students to strategically
complete classes in the most effective manner, which is in the best
interest of the student.
Bay Mills Community College feels very strongly
that students must achieve the necessary English and Writing skills
that are so important to every class that you will take. Therefore,
BMCC has a policy that all students will be required to take the English
placement test, to enroll in the proper English course during the
first semester. While each and every class in this curriculum is very
important, strong English and Writing skills are essential. As an
on-line curriculum, the majority of your work will be submitted through
written correspondence, e-mail, attached documents such as term papers
or reports, and so on. So, as you can see, English and Writing skills
are very important to your college career.
Students should feel free to contact me with
any questions or for guidance in choosing which course or courses
you should take next. The contact information that I have provided
above is so that students can reach me during the day between the
hours of 8:00 a.m. (EST) and 4:30 p.m. (EST). Students are also free
to contact me at home as needed at 906-248-5360. However, as a general
practice I will keep your student information with me during the day.
I would also like to let you know that I do travel a great deal with
my position as Head Start Director for the Inter-Tribal Council of
Michigan. If you do not hear back from me by the next business day,
it is safe to assume that I am out of town so please leave a message
on my voice mail or via e-mail and I will contact you as soon as I
return from travel. Please allow me a couple of days to respond in
this case – I will get back to you as soon as possible, I promise! |
