TRiO Workshop:
The TRiO workshop on Budgeting/Credit Card Pitfalls has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 21st from 1-3 p.m., in Room #103. Lunch will be provided. We hope to see you there!
Chili Cook-Off:
There will be a chili cook-off on Wednesday, March 22nd, from 11a.m. to 1p.m; the cook-off will be held outside the TRiO Computer Lab. The cost for a complete lunch will be only $5. All proceeds will be donated to the United Way, Hospice and the Special Olympics. This event will be held in conjunction with Winter Fun Day. Free massages will be provided outside the TRiO computer lab..
Michigan Tech/Finlandia
Transfer Trip
TRiO SSS students and staff enjoyed a transfer trip to Michigan Tech and Finlandia from February 23rd-25th. They toured both universities, enjoyed the ice sculptures at Michigan Tech as well as a performance of “The Three Muskateers.” Attending were staff members Kelly Bedell and Nikki Dowd and students Jason Tremblay, Joleen Dutcher, Chris Carrick, Barb Wilkins, and Marie Tadgerson.

Spring Retreat and Recognition Ceremony April 26th:
A ceremony to honor graduating TRiO students and those with grade point
averages of 3.5 and higher will be held at the Horizon Conference Center, inside the Bay Mills Resort from 12-3 PM. Hors d’oeuvres will be served and this year’s speakers are Troy and Karen Stende. We’re excited to have them as Troy was voted #1 campus speaker nationwide for the last 3 years!!! Please check them out at: http://www.stendeinspirations.com/. There is a sign-up list in the TRiO Computer Lab. Please plan on attending and sign up as we need a head count for food.
Student Leadership Conference ![]()
TRiO SSS Students attended the 2006 MI-MAEOPP Student Leadership Conference February 2nd thru the 4th in Lansing. Students attended workshops, banquets, and toured the Capitol. Those attending were: Christal Whysall, Michael Brown, Kelsey Belleville, Cassy Ellis, Matt Vance, Angela Klein, Gina Deuman, Louis Coullard, Jamie Verwiebe, Jason Tremblay and Kelly Bedell, TRiO Advisor. Kelsey Belleville received a certificate for TRIO Outstanding Student Leader at the Scholarship Banquet (see page 2).

Professional Tutors for TRiO Students:
Judy Webb provides tutoring for lower Math, English, and all Business and Accounting classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m.
Paul Ripple provides tutoring for MA 101, MA 102, MA 114, MA 116, and all Science classes on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m.If you have any questions please see Deb LeBlanc (room 122).
Reminders:
A friendly reminder that all volunteer work needs to be completed by April 1st. There are several opportunities to sign up for in the TRiO computer lab. See Nikki Dowd for any further questions.
Spring Break is the last week of March; classes resume on April 3rd.
