Both TRIO Trips were Big Successes:

Ten TRIO students attended the transfer trip to Lake Superior State University on March 9th. Bill Denton, Cassy Ellis, Rob Eskew, Jeff Gaus, Patsy Fitzek, Jacol Casey, John Gibbons, MarieTadgerson, Tracy Hammond and Ralph Miles left at 10:00 on Wednesday with Nikki Dowd. Some of the activities included a tour of LSSU’s campus, lunch at the Quarterdeck vault, and a visit to the Native American Center.

Spring Retreat and Recognition Ceremony April 27th:
A ceremony to honor graduating TRIO students and those with 3.5 and higher grade point averages will be held at the Horizon Conference Center at the Bay Mills Resort from 12-3 PM. Scheduled events include “The Cuban Guy”, a motivational speaker from Florida, followed by the Ceremony to Honor the TRIO graduates and TRIO students with high GPA’s. A buffet will be provided. A sign-up sheet is in the TRIO Computer Lab. Please plan on attending and make sure you sign up as we need a head count for food. (Please dress appropriately for the occasion.)

Upcoming Trip Planned:
April 16th: Nikki Dowd will be taking the following students to see “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” at the Opera House in Cheboygan:

May 24th -25th:
Trip to see Les Miserables at DeVos Performance Hall in Grand Rapids. We will leave the morning of the 24th and return the evening of the 25th. The sign-up sheet is in the TRIO Computer Lab.

Reminder:
Prior to any student checking out equipment, being selected to go on a trip or receive grant aid, their “active” criteria and class attendance will be checked in the data base and with their instructors.
