Identify the information that is missing from the description of a Head Start child and family. Refer to the categories on Handout 5: Introducing a Unique Head Start Child and Family, if needed. You will have 20 minutes to complete this assignment.

What additional information do you need? Why do you need this information to individualize? What sources can you use to obtain the missing information? Example: The family's goals for their child development Example: I could use it to work with family to set goals and plan strategies for encouraging development at home and at the center. Example: I could ask the family during a home visit or schedule a meeting to share what we know about the child and to plan an individualized program.
