Handout 11: Observation Checklist


Survey a classroom to assess barriers as well as strategies staff can use to ensure inclusion. Here are some things to look for:

  1. Are classroom materials arranged so that they are accessible for all children, including children with disabilities?
  1. Are a range of materials provided so that all children can use them comfortably?
  1. Are there dolls, books, puzzles, pictures, posters, and other materials that reflect children with a variety of disabilities?
