Securing a Qualified Proctor for EN112

For the "In-class" essay that you will be writing in Week 15, you must arrange to have your essay supervised by an appropriate proctor. You must have access to a computer and the Internet to e-mail your essay as an attachment to your instructor. Be sure to keep a copy.

Qualifications of the proctor must be submitted by emailing the Test Proctoring Form for the appropriate instructor.

Suitable proctors:

  1. An educational administrator of any regionally accredited institution of higher education.
  2. A state-certified elementary or high school teacher, school administrator, or school librarian. (The schools may be public, chartered, private or tribal.)
  3. A public librarian.
  4. For personnel of the armed forces, any commissioned officer of higher rank than the student, a base commander, a noncommissioned officer in command of a military post, an education officer, or a base librarian.

Arranging for a Proctored Examination

  1. Contact a person qualifying as a suitable proctor and ask him or her to proctor your essay. If the person agrees, arrange a date, time, and place for the essay. If there is a required fee, the student is responsible for any expenses involved.
  2. Complete the information required on the Test Proctoring Form and press the submit button which sends the Proctor Form to your instructor.
  3. Your instructor may approve or disapprove the proctor based upon assessment of the proctor's information. You will be notified if the proctor is not approved.
  4. If your request is approved, the link for the exams and instructions will be emailed to the proctor.
  5. Please notify your instructor and the proctor if you cannot take the scheduled essay.
